Website Comments Notification and Reply System
Website Comments Notifications are actually as they sound. The commenting system notify you (via email) when you have a new message or when someone reply to your comment.
Website comments replies via email:
While in Disqus notifications are sent via email, and replies can also be sent via email simply by replying to the email, in LiveFyre In notifications can be sent via email as well, but there is no functionality for responding to the comment via email as you have in Disqus. Same for IntenseDebate and facebook, here is no functionality for responding to the comment via email.
Twitter notifications and Social Networks:
Both in Disqus and LiveFyre you can receive notifications via Twitter replies when someone mentions your twitter account in a comment.
In Disquss, the replies show as being sent from a Disqus twitter account, while in LiveFyre the replies show as being sent from the Twitter account of the LiveFyre user.
In LiveFyre you can receive notifications in facebook (if you are loged in) when a friend mentions your facebook account. You must be connected to facebook and twitter otherwise you won’t receive any notifications through those services.
Following Website Comments
In LiveFyre this is not an option, but, you can notify yourself via social networks by using an @ mention in your comment. In Disquss and IntenseDebate you can follow people or have followers. In facebook you can subscribe to a user and get to read his posts but not all of his comments. Sometimes comments are not shown for a reason. I guess its the facebook algorithm which decides what is important to be shown.
Facebook did not target the website comments as the other players did. They are giving better notifications. They are all give almost the same notifications but in IntenseDebate you can decide to which comment to “listen” to and get notification while in Disqus and LiveFyre you can’t, which is kind of annoying. LiveFyre emails sometimes take some time to arrive to you inbox for an unknown reason.
